Damn Cat!
Not much recorded today – mainly thanks to the cat, and its habit of pressing random buttons on my mixer. It’s cold in the house at the moment, because January! – The mixer gets nice and warm when it has been turned on for a while – so despite all those very uncomfortable looking knobs and dials, she likes to sit on it! her paw’s pads are very good at pressing the buttons. I am really not sure if she does this on purpose, because it feels nice – as does pushing small objects off the table, or if she is unaware the clicks beneath her feet are antagonizing me. Possibly my shouting and arm waving, coinciding with the clicking feeling beneath her paws is a clue for her!
Pretty Pretty
Anyway, onto the track the cat didn’t spoil! It’s a nice clean acoustic sound, even though I played it on my Fender. The chords would probably sound better played on the acoustic, with some electric soloing on top, but changing guitars mid track is just not going to work live. When I do eventually get round to making a proper edited version of this track, I will use two different guitars, to try to get the right sound – and a metronome, as I notice the timing could be a little better too!
It’s a nice little track, a pretty pretty sound that you can easily drift away to – though it would sound much better if I hadn’t played a bum note in the middle!
Not to worry – next time I will get it right – or the time after that – or the time after that…
I just have to keep practicing!
Yours –
